Pediatric Cardiology Erasmus IP course

A total of 31 students attended the PCIP 2010 course
30 medical students or medical graduates and all attended the full 2-week course. An extra undergraduate student from Technical University of Crete attended only the 1st week of the course
Data and analysis is based only on the 30 medical students having completed the full course.

Medical students

From the 30 participant medical students, 21 were students one of the 4 participant European Institutions and 9 were students of the home Institution

Erasmus Status

A total of 20 students from partner Institutions had an incoming student Erasmus status. One further student (Medical University of Vienna), attended the PCIP course as extra student.
A total of 8 students had a home student Erasmus status, (Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete), one further student participated as extra student.

1. Gender

The ratio of female to male students was 2:1.

2. Age

Participants had a mean age of 25,9 yrs (median:24,8 yrs), range 22-39 yrs

3. Cycle of studies .

The majority of participants (90%) were undergraduate students

4. Year of studies

The majority of participant students were attending the 5th year of medical studies (corresponding to 46.7% of the total group, 51.9% of undergraduate students group)

5. Country

Most participant students came from Austrian Medical Faculties.

5. Nationality

Most participant students (43%) were of German nationality studying either in German or Austrian Universities. Austrian Universities had a more multi-national representation among their students
